Mohammad Karamudini (born on May 1955 in Sirjan – Iran, Iranian researcher, translator, author and teacher) is the author and/ or translator of scientific-educational articles and books, including the official textbooks of experimental sciences and biology for different school levels courses in Iran, and also a science journalist.
His books have been awarded:
• four times in the festivals of “Book of the Year” (2006, 2010, 2011 and 2017),
• four times in the Roshd Educational Book Festival (3rd: 2002, 9th: 2011, and 10th: 2013, and 15th: 2017),
• in 21st University Books Festival (2012),
• in 7th (2015) and 9th (2017) festival of the best books for children and young adults,
 six four-star awards from the Children’s Book Council (2018).
Mohammad Karamudini is also the founder of the Iranian Biology Olympiad and has been a member of international jury of the International Biology Olympiad in 18 different countries: Sweden/Uppsala-1999, Turkey/Antalya-2000, Belgium/Brussels-2001, Latvia/Riga Jurmala-2002, Belarus / Minsk-2003, Australia/ Brisbane-2004, China/ Beijing-2005, Argentina/ Rio Quarto-2006, Canada/ Saskatoon-2007, India/ Mumbai-2008, South Korea/ Changwon-2010, Switzerland/ Berne-2013, Indonesia/ Bali-2014, Denmark/Aarhus-2015, Vietnam/Hanoi-2016, Iran/Tehran-2018, Armenia/Yervan-2022 and United Arab Emirates/Al Ain-2023.
He has also been the editor-in-chief of the Biology Education, a quarterly magazine for 18 years (2004 to 2022).
In addition, he was named:
• The Model Teacher of the Country (1991),
• The Model Expert of the Organization for Research and Educational Planning of the Ministry of Education, Iran (2002),
• The Model Editor-in-Chief of Educational Scientific Journals (2010),
• Worthy Pioneer of School Textbooks. (2011),
• Worthy Expert of the National Elite Foundation (2011).
In short, Mohammad Karamudini has published 59 books so far, including 14 authored books9 edited books, 22 translated books, 12 official textbooks (co-authored), 2 collected books, 3 international articles, 60 editorials, 34 articles for youth, 23 articles for children. Furthermore, he has published 59 authored articles on science education and its promotion, 45 translated articles, 30 conversations and 16 lectures. In addition, he also has been a member of 9 National Cultural-Scientific Arbitration.
The Steering Committee of the international Biology Olympiad honored him for his twenty-five years of service in the 34th International Biology Olympiad, which was held in July 2023 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
Mohammad Karamudini is the holder of 21 scientific-cultural-artistic honors.
